In September of 2009 the Company, Corowa Whisky and Chocolate was formed, with nothing more than an old abandoned flour mill and a passion to make the best organic whisky and chocolate in Australia. Located in Steele Street, not far from the town centre this magnificent heritage building, which lay dormant for close to 40 years, is something to marvel at. The Directors of Corowa Whisky and Chocolate bought the mill for the sum of $1.00 from the then owners the Corowa Shire Council. It was the Council's keen desire that something be done to arrest the declining state of this 1920's flour mill. Since then the renovations have been going strong with a chocolate making area, a coffee shop, function rooms and a chocolate sales areas all open for the tourist to experience. They also can learn about our plans and hopes, but most importantly to taste quality product for themselves. |
